Scarlett Johnasson showed up as promised
at the Democratic National Convention to sing President Barack
Obama's praises and to urge people everywhere to get out there
The actress has been an Obama supporter since his
first presidential election campaign. In fact, he was the first
president she voted for.
Her speech was simple, short, and she brought no
furniture onstage with her, which has got to be a relief for convention
organizers this election year. She tried her best to tone down
her sexiness by wearing an Obama T and a grey tailored jacket,
her hair pulled back away from her face.
"It's an honor to be here tonight. I speak to you
not as a representative of young Hollywood, but as a representative
of the many millions of young Americans, particularly young women,
who depend on public and nonprofit programs to help them survive.
"It's never been easier than now. Go to commit.BarackObama.com
to register, to find your polling location and any other information
you need. It's that easy.
2012 Democratic Convention: Scarlett
Johansson Stumps for President Obama
September 06, 2012 ? by Elizabeth Snead
Award-winning actor Scarlett Johansson today
released a new video in which she calls on Congress to stand with
Planned Parenthood and support the vital health services the organization’s
more than 800 health centers provide for American women. In the
60-second video, Johansson explains the devastating impact that
recent congressional assaults would have on millions of women
who rely on Planned Parenthood for basic preventive health care.
In the video, Johansson says, "Every year, Planned
Parenthood provides essential care to millions of women, men,
and teens. For many people — especially those with low incomes
— Planned Parenthood is their only source of health care. Let
your Members of Congress know where you stand. Go to IStandWithPlannedParenthood.org.
Sign the petition.” - See more at: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/about-us/newsroom/press-releases/scarlett-johansson-stands-planned-parenthood#sthash.9iCV7bAP.dpuf
