President Obama has a new surrogate defending him
against birthers and healthcare critics like the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce: School of Rock star Jack Black. Playing the role
of the "Mis-Informant" in a new YouTube series, Black and actress
America Ferrerra are headlining an effort to stifle the
president's critics and build support for the administration's
healthcare reform.
Black and Ferrerra star in a series of videos from
Health Care for America Now, a coalition of over 1,000 organizations
in 46 states that support Obama's healthcare reform. In the videos,
the stars lampoon "corporate liars for hire" and right-leaning
critics of the president.
In the video going up Thursday, Black plays a young
school child who says he gets paid to lie about the president
and his programs. At one point he's shown drawing a picture of
the president, wearing a turban. Black says that he is showing
"Obama in his birthplace, Tijerkistan." In an earlier scene, a
little girl says that she wants to be a doctor. Black laughs and
says, "Obamacare is a socialist plot to take decision out of the
hands of our doctors." At one point he has to read his lines off
his palm, a likely slap at Sarah Palin who also did that once.
